Pattern
Body
- Ch 60. Dc into the 4th ch from the hook and each ch across. (57 dc)
- Ch 3, turn. Dc into each dc across. (57 dc)
- Repeat Row 2 for 10 more rows.
- Divide the work in half, marking the center with a stitch marker. (28 dc on each side)
- Continue working on the right side only. Ch 3, turn. Dc into each dc across. (28 dc)
- Repeat Row 5 for 10 more rows.
- Fasten off and leave a long tail for seaming.
Left Side
- Attach the yarn to the center stitch of the marked half. Ch 3, turn. Dc into each dc across. (28 dc)
- Repeat Row 1 for 10 more rows.
- Fasten off and leave a long tail for seaming.
Sleeves
- Ch 30. Dc into the 4th ch from the hook and each ch across. (27 dc)
- Ch 3, turn. Dc into the 2nd dc from the hook, *dc into each dc across, dc into the turning ch*. (28 dc)
- Repeat Row 2 for 11 more rows.
- Fasten off and leave a long tail for seaming.
Assembly
- Seam the shoulders by placing the right side of the right side body panel next to the wrong side of the left side body panel. Join the edges with a whip stitch.
- Seam the side seams in the same manner.
- Insert the sleeves into the armholes, matching the center of the sleeves to the shoulder seams. Seam the sleeves in place.
- Fold up the bottom edge of the jacket by about 2 inches and seam it in place to create a hem.
- Sew the buttons onto the front of the jacket, spacing them evenly.
